Ok, ladies. I am going to try to describe this wierd pain that I have been having for about 3 or 4 days. It is under my belly on the left side kind of where my leg starts. It will hurt for a while and then I won't notice it for a hour or two. Then it will come back.

I don't remember having any pains with my first and this is really scaring me!!! I go to the doctor Tuesday, but I think I am going to call my OB's nurse just to make myself feel better. I am not usually a worrier but this is bothering me!!

Any opinions??

My guess would be that it's just round ligament pain or stretching. Maybe one of the babies is positioned funny and it's pushing on your body? Or if it's around your hip/leg joint, maybe it's because everything is loosening up preparing for childbirth and that side is just a little out of whack right now.

The only other thing I can think of is could it be sciatic pain? I had that with my 1st early in the 2nd tri because I think my body was adjusting to the extra weight I was carrying. It was this awful shooting pain in my thigh, but I seem to recall it was in the back, like from my butt down my leg. I'm not sure if you would feel this in the front.

Let us know what your doc says. It can be disconcerting to have a pain that you're not used to.

I get these exact pains every once in awhile when I've been on my feet for too long. I usually sit down and stretch out in a recliner and they go away after about 15 minutes.

I'm not really sure what the pain is, but I have described them to my Dr. and he said that it's ligaments stretching and fatigue around the hip flexers and the best thing to do is to get off your feet and into a horizontal position.

I'd describe them to your Dr. and see what he says. Couldn't hurt right?

Thanks ladies.

I did call the nurse this morning and she said it sounded like Round Ligament Pain. She said take Tylenol if they get bad and try to stay off my feet as much as possible and rest. She also said I could look for a maternity girdle (new to me) to help give me some support.
She also said my doctor would be back this afternoon and she would talk to him. She made me feel so better, because I don't want them to think I am overreacting about every little thing, ykwim?

Maybe this weekend it will get better since I am going to be able to rest and say off of my feet.

Thanks again for your replies and concerns!! Have a great weekend!
