My husband and I are going to start trying for our first child and I'm wondering if my chances of having twins is heightened! His paternal grandfather was a twin and he has twin cousins. I do not have any twins on my side. Do I have a good chance of having twins?

No you don't, here's why.....

There are two kinds of twins, identical twins which is where the fertilized egg splits resulting in two babies and fraternal twins which is when the woman ovulates two eggs and they both get fertilized resulting in two babies. His sperm can't make you ovulate two eggs and it can't make your egg split either.

Any daughters you have could have twins though since your husband can pass the twining gene or hyperovulation gene down to them and cause them to ovulate two eggs. He can also pass this gene down to any sons you have but they would in turn have to pass it down to a daughter. This is where skipping a generation comes into play.
