OK I voted......In mny ways I am more like a T1 than anything else, however since I am labeled as a T2 (I am NOT like typical T2) you cna resend my vote if ya like.

Smmes everyone so far is an old salt w/20 years, more like 30 years for me.

dgarner11 replied to arealgijoe's response: glad to see you and no matter what pigeon hole your in we like ya anyway

Thanks Dgarner.....

Maybe if I were a PIGeon, I would fit one

Unlike most diabetics labeled as T2, I DO know and understand what its like to be 100% dependent on shoted insulin, it is very different than when I have a little natural insulin to take up some slack.

To be fair, both have their advantages and disadvantages, when I am in T1 type mode, everything is more predictable...

Glad to see you and Cora started this group. I learned a TON from the T1 group, especially Cora when she posted (to someone else) about HOW to test/check basal and bolus factors and adjust them. I had jsut gone from 3 shots/day to 5 with newer insulins and at the time was in total shutdown (T1 mode). No doctor, nurse or even a CDE explained things nearly as well, and actually it is so simple and easy to understand. IMO more diabetics would do so much better if they were taught likke Cora expalined it.
