Hi feeling High, Cora etc.

Well I saw my neuro this week and will be starting Copaxone for the MS (multiple sclerosis). I am jsut waiting for the Copaxone to arrive and nurse etc from shared solutions to call.

I think I am more nervious about starting the MS shots, yep MORE shots tha when I first started insulin! Already Rx'd 5 insulin shots a day, now yet another jab in my human pincushion body every day.

You guys be good...........

Hi Gomer!

I answered you on the other board but I'll give a recap here. I'm so sorry about the MS issues. You have enough on your plate. But you will be able to handle it because you are smart, tough, and you put in the effort to take care of yourself.

Best of luck and keep us posted.

Hey Gomer,

I'm having a hard time finding the Type I board lately. Not sure what's up with that!

I'm sorry to hear about you needing more shots. I think I know how you feel. You're probably thinking what else could go wrong? My right arm went paralzed the day before Easter. I just tell myself that there is a reason for everything that happens.

Another words by you going though this, you are able to help others understand and cope with it also.

I hope I don't sound like a nut by telling you this but, that's how I feel.
MrsCora01 replied to feelinghigh's response:
What happened to your arm? What do the docs say? Are you doing ok now? I hope so.

Keep us posted.

feelinghigh replied to MrsCora01's response:
I had been having shoulder pain for a long time and when I would tell my doctors they would just say it's frozen shoulder. Then, the day before Easter I woke up with a horrible painful shoulder (felt like exposed nerves) and my arm was paralyzed.

I made an appt with my GP on Monday and she diagosed it as possible Brachial Neuritis but, she wanted to be sure so she sent me to an Orthopedic Surgeon. I went to him and he also said he could Bracial Neuritis with other things going on in the shoulder. He sent me to a Neurologist for an EMG/NCS.

The Neurologist did an Electromyogram and a Nerve Conduction Study (thank God for drugs) and found that I have rapid firing in the Serratus Anterior (rib cage area), deltoid and wrist. He called it Neurapraxic Demyelinated Lesions (Brachial Neuritis). Meaning the nerves that are affected are damaged only in the inner liner of the nerves and it causes paralisis until it repairs itself. It could take months or a couple of years to get better.

I'm going to Physical Therapy 3 days a wk and I'm slowly recovering. It took all I had yesterday not to get emotional in front of my Therapist. I thought I was improving and when he put me on a new machine and I couldn't even move it. I got very discouraged at that point. But, today is a new day and I'm over it. haha
