I have had type 1 for 38 years, as time goes by we as diabetics know our bodies better than any1,even the docs.I didnt start to have any complications until my 35th year with it,and knowing what my body would tell me when sugar was too high or low, now I have looked for other symptoms to help me with the problem of not being able to tell either. (this is just from looking back upon prior symptoms). Somehow if my sugar is high I will get a real bad headache now,if too low then I will see 3 or 4 of 1 object. So look for other symptoms that happen to you during the time of being high or low.

Hi Julie, I've been type 1 for nearly 28 yrs now. I am H G U also. It's not much fun. I have been down in the low 30's before I realize something isn't right with me. A few times I've been in the high 20" too. I mainly get a little mental confusion so when I finally figure out to test my BG I'm in a real danger zone. I always test before I drive my car as it scares the heck out of me. 1life2livefor is right on when she says to look for "other" symtoms and I say look for some new unusual ones too as we don't all have the "traditional" symtoms. Hope this helps.
