Us vs. the School....

My son was diagnosed 3 years ago at age 2 and has just started kindergarten 3 weeks ago. We have been having a battle to get him a 50 plan, already been told twice by the consular that they will NOT do one and if they were too the would not even consider it until January.... We are having a meeting with her, the Ass. Principal, nurse and his two teachers today but I'm not sure they are going to be willing to give us what we need and what my son is entitled to by law. I have a lawyer here who is willing to take it on pro-bono but I do not want to go legal route if I don't have to because i know it will cause his school year to not be as enjoyable as it should be, but I will if I have to to make sure he is safe and taken care of. Any advice would be greatly appreciated to try and help make this go as smoothly as possible.
thanks
Eileen

Hi Eileen

I'm not familiar with American law, but I do know that not a lot of people visit this board.

Have you tried tudiabetes? I believe there is also a board somewhere called parents of diabetic children (or something similar)

good luck, your son has the right to an education despite his medical condition, I hope things work out
