    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Ok well I've been diabetic since I was 11 months old and I just have a few tips for new diabetics -TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF! This I can't stress enough how it important it is, as a diabetic your life is gonna be 50 percent more stressful than the average person. If you don't take care if your self it can be very harmful to your body and health. -Eat very healthy, low carb , low sugar meals and snacks are most important In keeping your bloodsugar down , I'm not saying you can't have the occasional sugary sweet but eat them in moderation . -Keep stress levels down, I know it seem like life isn't fair like how could god do this to me or whatever but there is nothing you can do about it so just keep yourself positive and happy and except the fact that YOU ARE DIFFERENT! -People will judge you but when do they not ? If you want to whip out your pump or tester in front of some one they will look at they will judge you but you can't let them make you uncomfortable . -Losing weight is VERRRRY difficult with diabetis especially if you get low it's like screw this diet I'm eating the whole fridge lol ! Anyways I hope you like my tips. ??-anonymous 19 year old girl
