Has anyone on this forum had this surgery?
How was your recovery? What is your life like now post surgery?

Any help is appreciated.
My father might have to have this surgery done and is very concerned with what his life will be like afterwards. He is a very active man and his work is manual labor so moving past a surgery to a life most like it is now is extremely important.

Also, have you had any luck with alternative medicines? Or other treatments?

Thanks for your help in advance.

You may not find answers on the WebMD Exchange. There are very few individuals who take residence here. Typically they ask a single question and then never return after they get their answer, so a community of 'regulars' does not really exist here.

There are MANY other PCa forums and BPH forums not part of WebMD, where many more people stay in discussion of their health concerns. Since this is a general Urology forum, you will not find PCa and BPH specific communities who would be listening and able to contribute their experience to your question.

Good luck.

Well I don't think I can help you on this specific condition. But if you ask a urologist Michigan I'm sure you will be able to know quite accurately. I think it will take about an year or so for the recovery process.

I have had a TURP, you would be better having a Laser instead of TURP. Less scar tissue that way and you will be back to normal sooner
