This is not normal. I cannot think of any condition for which this would be a useful procedure. In what country is this doctor?

Milking the prostate was once thought (before antibiotic use) to be an alternative treatment for chronic prostatitis, but study determined that it was not beneficial in these cases. Although this might be tried in a country without access to antibiotics, if someone is able to see a doctor quarterly, it would not be one of those countries.

I suspect the original post may be a fake story attempting to get a reaction.

Thanks for replying. I don't think it is just a story? This guy seems genuinely frightened his Dr. is being unprofessional? In my humble opinion, I think he's right.

Now, if only a medical Dr. could verify that?

His doctor at a minimum is not practicing current medicine. If he were treating this guy for prostatitis using prostate massage, he's way behind the times and should be using antibiotics. Like I said, without antibiotics, this is an alternative treatment, but not considered very effective (and antibiotics aren't considered highly effective either). At worst, this is sexual abuse, and if this guy has not demanded a reason for the procedure, it's his fault for not asking, and for submitting to it. I still think the story is likely to be fake as a result.

I am "the guy."

I had some symptoms of prostatitis without a diagnosis. There was some painfull sensations and he saw a little bacteria there. I need to clarify something. I also have moderately high cholesterol so the doctor is also monitoring that. So every 3 months I go to check the cholesterol and prostate.

I live in Los Angeles.

When he checks my prostate, he inserts one finger in my rectum and manually stimulates me with the other until I ejaculate. Initially the first few times I had my prostate milked, I did not get erect, and he spent a lot of time pushing on my prostate with his finger, and using the other hand to sort of "wring" out my penis. In other words, he would sort of squeeze at the base and then slide his hand towards the head to get out all the liquid.

This went on for a few sessions. He had done some other things like dialating my urethra, doing ketamine and heparin installations, in and attempt to ease my painful urination. He later made a diagnosis for interstitial cystitis.

As he continued to monitor this, he would check the prostate quite regularly. One time after a very long time, he began massaging me quite a bit, I began to get erect. No ejaculation, but I was trying really hard to lose the erection.

The next time I went in, same thing but he was a bit more "vigorous." I actually began to tense up a bit because I was embarassed and uncomfortable. He ensured me to "just relax" and to "let it happen, it was necessary to get a before and after sample." Eventually I ejaculated.

Its become pretty common now that this happens when I go in. He says he needs a sample of pre-ejaculate and afterwards as well to compare. I assumed this was normal.

Eventually he made a comment about some home improvements he has made, and how I should stop by and see it sometime. He became a bit more touchy-feely in general. I started to realize that he was possibly being unprofessional and began questioning wether his "thorough" milking was actually protocol or his way of trying to flirt or something.

I know this sounds like a hoax, and I hope I don't get deleted. This has become a troubling issue for me and I feel very confused and manipulated as this is my doctor, and I trusted in him, and now feel very mislead. If there is a scenario where this behavior is justified, it would give me great relief. If it is not, I would like to hear from a professional urologist if possible to verify.

This man is completely unprofessional. This is not an appropriate treatment or diagnostic technique. And certainly no excuse in America that prostatitis would not receive solely antibiotic treatment. Painful urination does not add up to interstitial cystitis, and if you had IC, you couldn't tolerate most of the procedures you've been subjected to. The first thing you will need is an attorney. The next thing will probably be filing a complaint with the medical board.

Whatever the future, you should never return to this doctor. If he's a GP, he shouldn't be handling your urology issues, and if he's a urologist he shouldn't be handling your cholesterol concerns. Ketamine can CAUSE ulcerative cystitis in the urinary tract. This doctor is dangerous. Report him immediately to the authorities and contact the AUA to find a different urologist with a good reputation.

Amen, brother! You see? I was right, this is a problem. And Michael has got to see a lawyer, stat!

I am so sorry you are going through this! I had hoped a real medical Dr. would have answered you by now? That doesn't seem forthcomming? I would take Counterso's advice, and see that lawyer immediately!

And stop seeing that so called Dr. you are going to now. Find another one, there has to be more than one in L.A., right?
