Perineum lump..painful!

I've had issues in the past with getting hemorrhoids. Usually 2 or 3 times a year.

I began to feel a pain in my anal region and suspected I was getting another hemorrhoid.

But as it developed the lump is on one side of my perineum about 1/2 way between my scrotum and anus.It is swollen and very sore / painful. At first I thought it was an internal hemorrhoid that was so big it created a lump in middle of my perineum, but now the lymph node closest to the lump is extremely sore.

I'm suspecting some sort of infection now since my lymph node is so sore. I've never had lymph node soreness with a typical hemorrhoid before.

Any thoughts as to what it might be? It's been full-blown for 2 days now and shows no signs of receding. Nothing I do subsides the pain for long. It hurts whether I sit or stand as the lump is big enough that my legs rub on it when walking.

It sounds like a worsening infection, whether an ingrown hair or another kind of cyst. It's important to see a doctor to check this out promptly because if it gets really bad, you won't be able to walk or sit. And if the infection gets bad enough to burst, you will really be unhappy.

As far as hemmorhoids, this is also something you should discuss with your doctor. There are things to be done about recurrent issues like this.

Neither is a urology question though, even if in your underpants area.
