Blurry spots in both eyes (same spot on both)

Hello, every once in a while i get a strange blur on my eye(s) and it makes it harder to read. Usually the blur is near the center of my eyes and I can see that everything else but the center is clear. i get this maybe once every 3-4 months, i feel no pain whatsoever just a blur in both my eyes. When i close one eye, the other eye still has the blur in the exact same spot as the other one did. I talked to my eye doctor and she said that I probably looked at something bright and didn't realize it. But I know I am not that naive. I agree that the blur looks like the same one that I would see if i were to look at a bright light bulb, except that blur would go away after a few seconds. The one I experience takes about 10-20 minutes to disappear completely. For that period of time, I can't do anything but sit and wait for it to pass. It is very annoying when it happens at work, I feel helpless. So, if anyone could tell me what is wrong, it would be greatly appreciated. thank you
