osteoporosis scan
An_256566 posted:
I was diagnosed with Osteoporosis many years ago. I take medication and the fact that I've had 3 back surgeries and now having dental implants proves to me that I still have Osteoporosis. Doctors want me to have a bone scan and I feel it quite unnecessary. I don't believe that having tests done when the outcome is obvious is responsible caregiving. Just because my insurance will pay for it is not a reason.

Can anyone explain to me why it would be in my bests interest to get another scan done?

You may find this article on the controversy of bone density testing in patients already taking osteoporosis medication interesting. You may also find it helpful to post your question in our Osteoporosis Community , where you can get opinions and advice from others with osteoporosis.
