Musculer dystrophy---not able to lift ankle

My 69 year old brother can not lift his ankle.The Doc said he has a form of Muscrler Dystrophy called parnelscapeldica--I know my spelling is not close.He walks with a slight limp--stairs are hard for him.Can anyone tell me the correct name for this form of MD,so I can look up info on it?--THANKS
