Going off of BC pills

I went to see my doctor today due to high BP,and she suggested one of the reasons it may be high is because I am on BC pills, which I have been on for 16 years.I am just wondering what to expect when I do go off the Pill, which I plan on doing when this prescription runs out.She told me to be extra careful if I do not want to get pregnant right away.My husband and I have been talking about starting a family soon but I am not 100% there yet.Yet if I do get pregnant before I am ready I will be happy.I am just afraid of going back to the way my periods were before I went on the Pill-I would bleed for 3 weeks straight, going thru almost a half a bag of pads per day, then not have a period for 2 or 3 months.

What can I expect when I go off the Pill after so long?

You most likely will go back to the way your periods were before unless you get pregnant right away. That's how it typically works. Although after being on it for so long maybe it wont?....Well if you do decide to have a baby it's very exciting & will change your life in the most amazing ways. I have 2 beautiful daughters, both toddlers & they are the greatest gifts of my life.
