Breast Pain during PMS

Hey all,

I'm a 21 year old college student and I've been experiencing painful breast swelling up to 2 weeks prior to my period (even without any other pms symptoms). I've heard this is caused by water retention that puts pressure on the nerves in the breast (which causees the pains). I drink primarily water and crystal light products and don't drink caffiene. I try to excersice moderately and avoid salty foods. I've heard that taking water pills such as diurex can help with water weight during pms but that it also causes frequet urination.

I've never had this symptom since I started menstruating when I was 13. After losing weight, I stopped menstruating from November 2008 until June 2009 (and started having my period again in July regularly). I started having this breast pain 2 weeks before my period in January 2010 and have had it consistently since then.

If anyone here might know the cause or what I can do to reduce this swelling and pressure I would be greatly appreciative. All ladies know the annoyance and pain of dealing with pms so I am grateful for all your time and feedback! Thank you sooo much!
