    Irregular Periods

Ever since I began having periods, I have always been very regular. Exactly 28 days. We've been trying to get pregnant for about 8 years with no success. Last month, I was about 2 weeks late. Got really excited, but the wicked witch showed up over Christmas break. That cycle was about 50 days. I contributed it to stress at work and other things going on as well as the holidays. I've been keeping track of my cycles on mymonthlycycles.com since we started trying. With Valentine's day coming up, I thought I'd check to see when my next one was supposed to be. It was supposed to have been on January the 24th. It is day 40 something. I'm 36. My stress level hasn't changed much. Could this be the beginning of the onset of menopause or could stress do this several months in a row?

Have you contacted your doctor about your irregular cycle? Since you are trying to get pregnant they can put you on a medication that will help you regulate. I doubt that you are in early stages of menopause, but I would definitely contact your physician and if they are not helpful or concerned then I think it is time to switch doctors to one that will be proactive in your quest to become pregnant.
