My grandson, who lives with his maternal grandparents and mother is 18 mos. old. He does not talk at all. He will just point to things and say, "ehh". His father, my son, and our family try to encourage him by books and putting names with people or objects. Should we be concerned and should this be brought up to my grandson's pediatrician? The child's mother does not communicate with my son about the child at all. Everything is a one word answer from her.
