    I prefer Phentermine....Just me???

I was prescribed Phentermine for weight loss 2 years ago. I quickly lost 20 lbs. While that was fantastic, the greatest benefit was my ability to become organized, focused, and motivated. During the time I was on Phen, I literally started an online boutique and successfully started to sell my jewelry designs to wholesale customers. I also ran my first half marathon (without stopping to walk). All of this was at the age of 40. None of which I could have dreamt of happening.

During this time, my 8 year old son was diagnosed with significant ADHD. While conducting my research on the matter, I had a light bulb moment. I realized the symptoms tend to look a lot different in adults than children. I fit almost every single qualifier. I started to assume the Phen was helping me out of the fog I lived in and made it possible to realize that I wasn't lazy after all. It was truly amazing. I could multitask and categorize all the different ideas running through my head. My diagnosis explains a lot in terms of my struggles in school, disorganization, and racing thoughts.

So fast forward, since I was properly diagnosed through a battery of evaluations, my Dr. prescribed Adderall. I had to stop the Phen because of that. At first, it felt like it helped but nothing like phentermine. I feel like I am slipping back into my foggy state. I am making a lot of changes in regards to my diet and work out regime in hopes I can make it out and have continued success at work and home.

Has anyone switched form Adderall to Phentermine for ADD?

That's a very interesting question. I don't know of any adults with ADHD who take Phentermine. But there probably are some.

First, you should know that Adderall does NOT work well for many people with ADHD.

Until you decide that Phentermine works best for you, you should work with a competent prescriber who can provide a trial of several choices of stimulants. Your individual neurochemistry great affects which will work best for you.

    Good luck,
