I was put on Prednisone last year and it cured me of my speech impediment (90% improvement) and extinguished my ADD.

    Hi there,

You don't mention how long, or why, you were taking prednisone.

Please be aware that prednisone can actually trigger mania in vulnerable people, including those with no history of mania.

There is no evidence that prednisone has any effect on ADHD or speech impediments. And there are other types of risks to taking prednisone.

Perhaps you have confused mania with a cessation of what might be inattentive-type ADHD symptoms.

I was on prednisone for hand eczema for about a month. I also wouldn't expect anyone to know it has been proven. I went to my neurologist and he was also puzzled. He put me on a drug that acts the same on the brain as prednisone but w/o the negative long-term effects. The drug is called Mycophenolate. I'm using it off-label and it has improved my speech by a significant amount.
