    Fear of Beautiful Women

    Large crowds..
    Fear of imperfection...
    hope7951 replied to Bildo2's response:
A phobia is an overwhelming and unreasonable fear of an object or situation that poses little real danger. Crowds are scarey. Imperfection is really fear of failure or acceptance...but in reality people are drawn to imperfection and vulernbility is what endears people to us. perfection is not only not possible but subjective and real people hate those who come too close. Fear of beautiful women? we know why you feel safe here. Joye

    Claustrophobia- ahh very much so!!!!
and i have a fear that wasnt on there.. I have a fear of getting old.. i have ever since I was little I dont like birthdays cause it means i am getting older.. my 23rd birthday is in aug and im already dreading it...
    hope7951 replied to amess2day's response:
Ames, this is something to discuss with a therapist. Unreasonable fears that interfer with your life are not good things. Often once you uncover the trauma or event and see it through grown-up eyes, you can realize once and for all that you don't have to be afraid.

As for 23, that is a scary age...once you live past 50 you get free from all those pressures. I would not go back for anything but enjoy every years I get older. Joye

not trying to sound rude but hope7951 you make everything sound like its so matter how old i get ill never stop fearing death and its brother cease to exist and everything you have actaully accomplished in life is turn into a huge waste in the end...if i could id live forever with my love...i jus hope when i die i can live in this heaven everyone speaks of or i would like to be reborn, as if i died i would like to come back as a new born child and live once more...
    bpcookie replied to Lost_Kitten13's response:
Kitten honey, I agree with you. Its not easy to get over many things. Ive seen different therapist for over 11 yrs, and I still havent gotten over many, many problems, no matter how often we work/worked at it. It just isnt that simple.

So sorry you have so many phobias you have to deal with. It must be quite hard. Big hugs honey.
    Lost_Kitten13 replied to bpcookie's response:
its ok cookie and thanks for the hug agian

    -huggles back-
    hope7951 replied to Lost_Kitten13's response:
I didn't say it was easy. I went to a therapist 8 years but am happy to have someone guide me to the place where I could let go of some of my fears while becoming better prepared to face the ones that would not ever go away. You don't have to live in fear and you don't have to feel out of control of your life. Good therapist do help. It does not happen over night but often takes years to resolve. I am happy I did that and encourage you to free yourself in a similar manner. For spiritual matters, all churchs offer private counseling to bring you to a place of peace and understanding. You life does not have to be as hard as it is for you. I'd like to see it get better. Joye

I have a good amount of fears--
Fear of snakes (cannot even look at them on TV or in a book or anything like that)
    Fear of flying (since 9/11)
Fear of Conflict (get panic attacks if confronted)
    Fear of Heights
    Fear of Spiders
Fear of Dentists (wore braces for 12 years and had a terrible Orthodontist that did nothing for my teeth)
That's about it can't think of anything more.

I hope this thread is still open. This is 2011. I have lilapsophobia (fear of tornadoes). I recently moved to Oklahoma, and we just had a very horrific tornado season. I can't move away. I recently got a storm shelter which helped me feel much better. I want to make sure I can get over this phobia all the way(like when I'm traveling or something).
    bpcookie replied to oldyoungchick's response:
Hello oldyoungchick, I believe you are new here? Welcome to the board. All posts are still open no matter how old they are.

I can understand your fear. When you live in an area such as Oklahoma, being fearful of a tornado, especially after going through a bad season, would be expected. Im glad you have a storm shelter now and you feel a bit safer. Stay safe.
Live everyday like it was your last, and eventually you'll be right.
