    Your Self-Perception: Has it Changed?
    Dave Balch posted:
We were leaving for Chris's dentist appointment so I thought I'd be efficient and start a load of laundry. We went to the dentist and helped her into the chair. Her appointment was only 1 hour, so I went to the market, came back home to put away the groceries and put the wash in the dryer, then went back to the dentist's office to pick up Chris. It was very hectic and there was a lot of pressure because I only had an hour and I didn't want her to have to wait.

That's when it hit me me: "I've become a soccer mom!"

With all of the things that you have to do as a caregiver, has your self-perception changed?
    rohvannyn responded:
My self perception did change somewhat when I started caregiving. For one thing, as hard as the work was, for the first time I felt like my job actually mattered to something. So I had slightly better self esteem. I'm laughing in a good-natured sort of way, imagining you in a minivan with maybe one of those white tennis visors you see on Arizona soccer moms.
Dave Balch replied to rohvannyn's response:
I have one of those! Maybe I should start wearing it more often...
