Statins Reduce Proteinuria, Mortality in CKD Patients
    iride6606 posted:
"Statins unquestionably reduce the risk of death in populations with, or at low risk of cardiovascular disease ," the researchers stated. "Our study further indicated that statins had the same effect on non-end stage CKD."
    surfoahu responded:
"Statins improve survival and other outcomes in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) , but they do not appear to slow progression to end-stage renal disease (ESRD) , a new meta-analysis finds."

That's journalism for you, and one of the funniest media bloopers I have ever read.
    iride6606 replied to surfoahu's response:
Not a blooper, the purpose of this paper is to state that individuals on statins with CKD have a lower all cause mortality. No one ever stated they slow they progression. They did a meta analysis and noticed this association and reported it. So not a blooper, just another misinterpretation by you. Again, read and re-read if it is not clear.
    surfoahu replied to iride6606's response:
    Its a blooper. Bloopers happen.
    iride6606 replied to surfoahu's response:
Not to anyone who reads the article. You are the one trying to read a different meaning into the intent of this article. But hey, if that's what you need to do then carry on.
