I, too, am 57. I am so sorry for all the health issues you are going through. I wanted to reply so when you came back there would be someone who tried to help. I am taking a new antidepressant(which hasn't kicked in yet) along with xanax. I finally made an appointment with a psychiatrist but sadly, I couldn't get in until November! I really recommend therapy. I was in counseling for a few years a while back and I know it really helped me. I have terrible anxiety and wake up at about 4 every morning with my heart racing and severe panic. I have read that this is a clear sign of depression. So it's back. Exercise is a very good idea, too. I walk around my neighborhood and when I don't I use the elliptical. It sounds like therapy might be something you could try. It was great for me to have someone listen to me. I hope you get some more good advice!
