Calorie calculator says I need to basically starve
    Stinatron posted:
I filled out the fields in the webmd calorie calculator: 34 year old woman, 136 lbs, 5'3, workout 3x a week so lightly active.

It says that while I'm almost overweight weight wise, I am just overweight in waist ratio, and yet to lose just 2 pounds a week I'll have to eat 763 calories! It then goes on to say it is unhealthy to eat under 1200, so I'll have to make up the difference with exercise!

This is so discouraging to me because I can never do this! I would have a hypoglycemic attack if I even tried to stay at 1200 calories! My breakfast of bland oatmeal with blueberries and a hard boiled egg is the majority of my caloric intake; and on top of the 3 workouts per week that I already reported to get this amount of calories, where will I find time to lose an additional 437 calories per day while I'm weak and hungry?

I'm in tears. I'm tired of gaining. I used to be able to eat and apparently now I just can't. please tell me this isn't true.

There must be glitch somewhere, but anything under 1200 calories is just too low. Just make sure when you are reducing your calorie intake, have something like fruit or some nuts with you all time in case your sugar drops. Good luck !

so my calorie intake is 1173 a day however it being low I am hungry a lot. But I just grab a snack like carrots and cucumbers, or grapefruit if I supplement my food I normally eat with healthy foods I can do it and so can you! or may try to lose 1 pound a week instead of 2
