Stay Healthy and Fit While Traveling With These Cool Websites
Pamela Peeke, MD, MPH, FACP posted:
I'm a road warrior for professional and personal travel. I'm also focused on staying fit despite car, plane and train stresses. I found a couple of neat websites that offer information about hotel and local fitness resources that will help you decide whether this place can offer you great options, or if you should book somewhere else. is a new site that's building up its database. People share their experiences and these are reviewed, ranked and posted. It's easy to navigate and reminds me of an Angie's List for Hotel Gyms. is very cool. It is more comprehensive and offers resources for healthy eating, gearing up, working out and even has a "Go Play" option for folks looking to sightsee and engage in fun from dance to hiking. Pretty cool!

I'm really liking this information! Especially because so many folks in my office travel and are launching into their New Years resolutions to keep fit in 2012. Now I can share this information with my buddies and they can (and will) speak up about hotel gyms. Yep, it's not unheard of to have pre-meeting meetings in the gym when we travel.

Just to share one of my favorite tips, after all sharing IS caring, keep on your favorite shortcuts. You can map walking/running/biking routes anywhere in the world and save the routes for future use/sharing. I use that site to map walks when I travel to visit family and have also charted hill-acious running routes for friends around my neighborhood (they run/I walk). Hey - they said they wanted to introduce hills into their run....I live to serve!

Have a Happy and Healthy 2012 and keep the good news coming!
