    I've been on Optifast for about 11 weeks and lost 51 pounds. I started at 225. Now it's time to level out and eat food. So I'm drinking one less drink 3 to 2 and 2 cups of veggies from the list in the Optifast box. Let me start from the beginning. I couldn't afford to go through a clinic. So I researched the internet and found Optifast at a price that I could afford in Australia. Yeah Australia! I'm having knee surgery May 3rd and was desperate to do something about my weight. I know I wouldn't be able to lift myself during physical therapy. So again I was desperate. My husband is my support my rock. I'm hiding the truth from my children because they were against me going on this diet. They think I'm just on a Healthy Diet. Ok, that's been good enough. The whole thing has become difficult now and I'm reaching out to all of you for help and support. I tried the Optifast/Nestle company but they turned me away. legal stuff, I was told. I can't go on Facebook because my family goes there. I know I've said a lot, but I need you to know. I'll take help at my email address too. [email protected] I look forward to hearing from anyone.     Sorry, I can't get to email from here but I'll respond on this forum. The biggest thing you can do is once you are getting off the diet drinks, replace them with healthy vegetables, enough protein to get yourself going, healthy fats, and cut out as much fake food as you can. I'm talking about white bread, white pasta, white potatoes, boxed foods, foods that come in chip bags, anything like that.

    This is a lifelong journey. Focus on getting good amounts of nutrients in your foods - eat colorful fruits and vegetables, eat things with a variety of spices in them, herbs, hot peppers if you can stand them, get protein, and move. If your legs aren't so good, do wall pushups, heft food cans, get in the water. Just find ways to move. Work on that upper body strength - exercise bands are great, too! Muscle burns three times as many calories as fat, and gives you the strength to get around while you are healing.

    Also, no more secrets. Secret dieting is as bad as secret snacking. You are doing something to make yourself healthy. There's no shame in it.
