Working in a pharmacy, I have seen prescription HCG injections used as part of a multipart fertility treatment regimen. So, since real HCG is only available as a prescription medication, you definitely want to have your doctor look at the effect (good or bad) on your fertility.

Over the counter HCG isn't available in the US anymore because the FSA banned it. So if you get something marketed in the US as HCG, or like HCG, it's probably fake - just a friendly warning.
