    Dark Circles

    Dear sir,

All of a sudden, dark circles started appearing around the bottom portion of the eyes. i hve been noticing this from 2 months. I tried cucumber, tomato, aloevera but didnt work. I drink lot of water everyday. So thats not an issue. I had LASIK on 2013 October. Is this problem related to my LASIK surgery? Please let me know the ways to cure this.
    Alan M Kozarsky, MD responded:
In my experience, the "sudden" appearance of eyelid changes is more a new observation than an absolutely new occurrence. As people get older, the eyelid skin gets thinner and there is a bulging of eye socket fat through the thin skin which gives this appearance. There are much rarer causes of swollen appearing eyelids. Probably no cure other than cosmetic eyelid surgery if this is the usual kind of issue. As always, a full evaluation by an ophthalmologist is the first step.
