Please help with my contact issue.

My eye doctor told me that I had gotten a scar caused by old contacts, I discovered the discomfort on a Sunday around 8ish. I was very sensitive to light, hard for me to look up, just felt like something was in both of my eyes. I didn't take out my contacts right away because I thought I could simply shake it off. But I decided around 2 hours later to take out my contacts and the pain I felt was multiplied, I felt pain with my eyes closed and open so I simply kept my eyes closed. When to the doctor and they gave me steroid drops, 4 times a day. I felt massive amounts of pain when putting these drops in, it just hurt so bad. Well 3 days passed and nothing was changing. Went back to the doctor and they gave me drops that dilated my eyes, it stung to put in but gave me relief, last that night maybe 4 hours after those drops my right eye was swollen. Woke up it was okay, but today around 5pm my right eye has been swollen practically shut. Its been 6 days approaching 7 with this pain. Please help me with this, it doesn't make since. I'm ready to be done with this pain.
