my husband had a heart attack a week ago. he has been walking across the street and around the house. No lifting of weight over 2 lbs. Taking it easy. What simple exercises can he do now to gently ease into a cardiac exercise routine?

Hi! Glad to hear that your husband seems to be doing well in his recovery. You may have better luck posting this question in our Heart Disease Community , as the members there may have more experience with getting back into an exercise routine following a heart attack.

We do have this article about lifestyle changes to consider making after a heart attack. It outlines diet changes, checking in with your emotional health, and cardiac rehab among other things (there is a small section on exercise).

Is your husband taking part in a cardiac rehab program? Or has he spoken with his doctor about what levels of exercise are okay for him to do at this time in his recovery? Consulting a medical professional to make sure that he is doing enough to help strengthen his heart and improve his overall health without overdoing it is probably the best course of action.

I would definitely encourage you to pop on over to the Heart Disease Community (link above) to see if you can get some answers from those who have experienced this first-hand.
