    Is this GERD?

For quite some time I have notice that I'm belching a lot more than normal but didn't give it much thought. At times when belching I also noticed food would come back up my throat. Not a lot but some. Gross I know. About two weeks ago after having a hotdog with mustard I had acid in the back of my throat. I remember wondering if it could be the mustard. After that I started noticing the acid after drinking coffee and thought maybe it was too strong. I'm still having the acid in my throat but now my throat is sore too.

My question is, does this sound like GERD to you? What can I do to alleviate these symptoms. It's driving me crazy. I've even quit smoking and have no desire to start again. Forgot to mention when I lay down I have to sit up and belch a lot because I feel the acid thing going on.

I forgot to mention that I find myself having to clear my throat a lot lately and swallowing more (feeling like I have post nasal drip but J don't). Just the same sensation.
