    Esophigitis, Gerd, EOE???

A week ago all of a sudden my esophagus just seemed to swell up. For the first 2-3 days I was just have a hard time swallowing and choking if something was too big. by day 4 I could not swallow anything but liquid. I went to the ER. They did a barium swallow test which showed nothing but a delay in my swallowing. No physical blockage, which I guess, is good. They sent me home and told me to take Zantac for Gerd, In which I had never heard of till now. I also have a nut allergy so they said it could possibly be related but since I am having a no other symptoms they think it is more Gerd. I have been on Zantac for 3 days now. I am also taking benadryl. Also using tums when needed. I have been pureeing fruits and veggies into broth soups or smoothies. I can't swallow little pieces. Berry seeds get stuck. small chunks of veggies get stuck. Not in my esophagus but in my throat. Is there something else I should be doing? How long should I expect this to take?HOnestly, I am looking for any advice!!!! I have no health insurance so I am trying to avoid any unnecessary trips to the doctor. I think my next step is a GI doctor. Anything I can do at home to help before I go see him. Thanks so much!
