Medication for HIV has come a long way over the years; down from the many doses of medications required daily to combination of meds.
There are also now different combinations available; if a patient is having difficult with one combination there are others that can be tried.
Whether one should reduce their medications is something that should be discussed with their Infectious Disease physician first.
While food and perhaps supplements may help improve strength, as a dietitian I have to say these will do nothing toward of preventing the disease from moving from HIV to the end stage of AIDS.
