I had left total knee replacement on October 25, 2013. Went to the best of the best in my city. Spent 3 days in the hospital and then six at a great rehab center. I am home now and have been walking around great with the my walker and going up/down steps like a pro. I even drove 2x to the drugstore. I noticed something a couple of days ago. While I am still on a lot of pain meds (Vicodin and Oxycontin) I am getting little "sparks" of pain from my left outside thigh. Sometimes hurts worse than the knee pain. I called my doctor who said I was trying to do too much and that I need to spend the weekend icing my knee, keeping the leg up - not to do my exercises and just lay very low for the weekend. It seems to be working. Today my knee pain is minimal and the "sparks" have let up considerably and are manageable. The doctor said those were just spasms coming from trying to recover and get back to normal too quickly. Has anyone else had something like this? Thanks for any responses!
