    Hip Replacement Tips?
    kellyhartle posted:
My husband is having hip replacement surgery on May 10. We've already got a walker, grabber and shower chair, and I know we'll need a padded toilet seat and doughnut pillow. We were planning on getting a Sleep Number bed anyway, so we're speeding that up, too. What other things can you think of that could help?

    Hi kellyhartle,

It sounds like you are pretty well set for when your husband comes home from surgery. This article has some good information about what to expect before and after surgery as well as some supplies you should have on hand (many of which you have already purchased).

The above article suggests setting up a "base camp" of source where everything your husband may need on a regular basis are within easy reach (at arm level) -- things like the tv remote, phone, medicine, tissues, a book, waste basket, water, etc. It's also important to make sure that any throw rugs or anything else that he could trip on as he recovers are up and out of the way.

Please let us know how his surgery goes! And if you have thought of anything else that may be helpful and that might help anyone else coming here for advice
