    You must do the exercises when having TKR. It alleviates stiffness and that hardening feeling. Also, see if you PT will do massage of knee, feels so good and it really helps with that stiffness and hardening feeling. Before getting out of bed or while sitting in recliner do the back of knee press downs, this one really helps and strengthens the thigh for knee. I try and walk alittle each day to take away stiffness and swelling. Hang in there
