    Worried about HIV status

I am male and broke up with my male partner over a year ago now (we were together for about a year).I found out that he had cheated on me and had a one night stand with a stranger at some point during our relationship (most likely towards the end). I do not know if they used protection.
We never used protection during sex but never had Anal sex. Just oral and mutual masturbation.
A close friend of mine was diagnosed about a year ago with HIV and this has gotten me worried that I may have it, due to my ex partner having cheated on me.
I had a test at the local clinic about a month after we broke up and the 2 weeks I spent waiting for the results were terrifying. My results were negative, but of course there is a 3 month period where HIV does not show up on a test.
I have not been sexually active since breaking up with my ex over a year ago.
I cannot bring myself to get another test as I fear having to go through the waiting period again. This worry of my HIV status is starting to interfere with my life.. Whenever I get a cold/flu symptoms or something like a cold sore, I get very down/depressed in worry that it could be symptoms of HIV.
Some advice or reassurance would be greatly appreciated.
