    Dr. Karpatkin received his Masters degree in Physical Therapy from Boston University in 1989 and a Doctor of Science degree from Rocky Mountain University in 2009. He is a board certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist from the American Physical Therapy Association since 1997, and is a board certified Multiple Sclerosis Specialist from the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers since 2005.

    He will be supporting you and answering questions from a physical therapy perspective.

    Im greatly looking forward to being a part of this community. One of the things i feel i can really help community members with is advice on appropriate exercise programs. All too often, persons with MS exercise in a manner that is inappropriate for their MS and get either bad or no results. With over 20 years experience working with persons with MS to develop exercise programs that are specifically customized to their specific needs, I am very confident that ALL persons with MS can benefit significantly from an exercise program, but, it has to be the right program, one that addresses the particular deficits that their MS has caused.
    I greatly look forward to being a helpful part of this community

    I just watched your video on YouTube that was ousted Jun 2,2015. I have been lifting weights pretty heavy all my life. When I was diagnosed in 2014 I continued to keep training as heavy as I can 5-6 days a week. I personally feel that weight training with MS is a must do.

    Thank you for watching! I completely agree that strength training is essential for feeling our muscles as strong as possible for as long as possible. I have also incorporated a lot more stretching and flexibility exercises into my workouts as well to help with spasticity and range of motion. I try to be a lot better then I used to be about warming up, stretching, and hydrating!
