I am concerned about the numerous impacts on my health resulting from MS. I know that alcohol is not too good for my health either, so I was wondering, can I drink alcohol if I have MS?

    Thank you.

Hi there and thanks for posting,

Like you said, excessive alcohol consumption isn't particularly good for your health overall. You can read more about how alcohol affects your health here .

As for MS and alcohol, since alcohol controls the central nervous system, the consumption of it may add to your already existing difficulties as a person living with MS. Click here to read the risk and potential benefits of moderate alcohol consumption here .

I guess the moral of the story here is: Everything in moderation.

If you are drinking in excess, you might want to ask yourself "Why?" Are you experiencing emotional turmoil or mental health issues? If so, have you considered seeking help for that?

Be sure to keep us updated. We are here for you ((hugs))!
