    snapping finger tendons

    Hello everyone,
Last month it was my middle finger on the right hand, today it's the left hand one to last finger tendon that seem to have snapped just while pushing on the shower door to close it(pushing). Seemingly very little force was exerted and something, i assume a tendon, in my palm "snapped" with a painful feeling.
The first time this happened it took a couple of weeks to go away.
Now that it happened again on a second finger I am starting to worry.

Does anyone have an idea what this can be and what to do to prevent it. I am 54 and generally in good health.

Thank you so much, I appreciate your time
    Best Regards
    CF
