Stress Fracture in Foot & Cam Boot (Moon Bott) - HELP
    heltaskelta posted:
3 1/2 weeks ago my son hurt himself at Soccer and it ended up being a Stress Fracture in the Metatarsal in his foot. He has been in a Cam Boot for 3 weeks now (and walking with crutches). My questions is - how long should this go on for? The doctor seems unsure, now wants bone scan (which costs a lot of money) but I don't want to go down this path if my son may be ok in 2 weeks. He has been resting adn not walking. When he tries to put pressure on it - it hurts. People are telling me he should be walking normally without a boot by now and he's being a baby. Are they correct or could he still be in pain?

Three weeks is a short time for this. I broke mine and was in a boot for 8 weeks. Unless the doctor suspects something else going on other than a simple fracture, I'd hold off on the bone scan.
