    Swollen Lymph Nodes in groin?
    AltMomma posted:
Well, i made an appt for tomorrow for him, but i thought i'd ask anyway.
About a week and a half ago, my husband noticed these lumps in his groin area. Two big ones on the right side, and one on the left. They've kind of fluctuated in size a bit since then, but still a pretty consistent size (about a marble)
I can move them around, and they are in a pattern (like a necklace), so im assuming they are his lymph nodes. When i move them, he giggles alot, so it must tickle, not hurt.
I read somewhere that the MMR vaccine can cause this? Not sure if thats true, but he did have that about a month ago. Other than that, no infections i can see, and he has had 1 or two cases of very mild diaper rash, which healed up in a day or so.
I dont want to think its something serious, but i do get worried.
Dont know if its related, but he's been having weird appetite changes, and he did have some teething issues a few days back where i had to give him tylenol. Hes better now.
Just wondering if anyone has had some experience with this, and what the outcome was? They arent red, but you can see the two right ones kind of bulging out when you flatten his leg. Like i said though, they tickle him, no pain.
    He's almost 16 months old.

Hiya, I was wondering what the doc said and how your little one is doing? I'm hoping it all came out OK! Please let us know. :)
    AltMomma replied to Chris_WebMD_Staff's response:
Well, they put him on antibiotics to see if it will go down. So far, they havent. In my opinion, i think they got bigger. Im very scared it could be serious. He did lose a pound, and his appetite has been sort of strange. I just hope its not cancer or soemthing :(
    bgabert replied to AltMomma's response:
It could be the antibiotics that are making his tummy not feel so great.
How long are you supposed to keep him on the antibiotics?

I would definitely go back in once you are done the prescription if nothing has changed. Maybe they can refer you to a specialist just in case. Better safe than sorry!

Good luck and keep us all posted, AltMomma!

I was doing a search on this cause my son is 12 months old and had his first mmr shot 2 weeks ago along with chicken pox vaccine. one week later he had the exact same thing of lumps in his groin that were movable. I just came back from my pediatrician and he told me that they are from the mmr shot. He said it caused his lymph nodes to enlarge and that he'll always have enlarged lymph nodes. It 's nothing serious and that's just his reaction to the vaccine. He also was experiencing teething problems at the same time.
Can you let me know since this post is 3 months old , if your son's lymph nodes went back to normal? I am a little nervous ...not sure what to do. Thanks. and I hope everything is ok now. :)
