    breath holding spells

Hello my name is Chantal and i am a mother of two a girl ( and my little boy (18m). My son now 18m had his first spell a week before his first birthday. it all started the morning when he fell and hit the back of his head strange enough it was a short cry with no sound my mom wet his face and he was fine that was at about 10am he slept at 12 until 14:00 and then at about 15:00 I was busy tidying my daughters bedroom when my daughter tried to stop him from climbing on a cupboard when she shouted mamma there is something wrong with daniel so i ran when i got to him he was blue. I ran with him to my mom. My mother checked his airway it was clear but his eyes were open and went like a glossy color it was frightening i thought he was gone. I ran outside and stopped someone driving past and with that a man ran up to me took my baby from me and performed cpr he can by immediately. I rushed with him to the hospital and they did brain scans EEG's and all came back clear a nurse at the hospital told me that it seems to her like breath holding spells i must ask the doctor to check his iron. His iron was low but not much so without a family history my child was thought to have epilepsy. I cried bitterly it was very hard for my daughter her marks dropped at school and her hair started falling out terribly. I prayed and asked God for His Grace and mercy after his second episode march 2015 but this time his whole boddy went into a spasm. the doctors wanted to put him on seizure meds and i have heard of bad side effects so i was scared my mom told me my little one was not having an epileptic fit it was not necessary so i listened and carried on praying. Believe it or not God answered my prayer a week after his first episode he slipped and fell back and hit his head he cried but no sound came out i blocked his nose and gave one short blow in his mouth sort of like CPR and he gasped for air. It was scary and i felt helpless just watching him and not knowing what to do now i can help him to gasp for air so every time he cries without sound i block his nose and blow in his mouth and it really works. I really hope it works for you too. i was becoming over protective worring he was going to get hurt and stop breathing again now i can leave him let him play:-)
