Any ideas for getting a sleepyhead out of bed?
    sdadkin posted:
I have two boys (one just turned 2 and the other will be 4 next month). Lately I have been having a lot of trouble with my oldest not wanting to wake up in the mornings. The first thing I do in the mornings is turn his light on and tell him it's time to get up, then I go get ready. I get up at 6 and we need to be out of the house by 6:30. After I get ready, I go back to his room and try to wake him up. If he's being stubborn I go and get his brother ready and then come back into his room. Sometimes he will wake up on the first try and others he will run back to bed or try to take his clothes back off. It's so frustrating! DS2 usually goes to bed around 7 and DS1 goes to bed at 8. I think part of the problem is that he is not taking his naps at daycare. Anyone have any morning tips? I don't have a lot of patience when I am in a hurry and trying to get all three of us ready.

Just a suggestion but maybe you could get up a bit earlier. I mean, getting up at 6a and having to leave by 6:30a doesn't give you much time to get ready. I have to leave by 6:15a and usually get up around 5a and have enough time to get myself and two kids (5 &3) ready.

I agree with getting up earlier so you aren't so rushed.

I got my daughter an alarm clock when she was around 5. She hated it when I woke her up, but would jump right out of bed when the alarm clock went off. I don't know why it made such a difference, I'm just glad it did!
