    Introduction from North Carolina USA

I am 43 years old and confirmed today that I am "unexpectedly expecting" with due date of January 17, 2016.

I have many complicating risk factors in addition to my age, so we are taking this discovery one day at a time; we understand the risk of loss at my age and experienced a previous loss at 10 weeks when I was much younger.

We have four children, with our youngest being 10 and our oldest graduating from high school next weekend!

I'm looking forward to learning more about some of you and perhaps finding a friend or two "in the same boat."

    Take care!

I am close to being in the same boat but I'm embarrassed to say I'm two years older than you. I have a 25, 23, & 17-year old from a previous marriage, then, after two years of trying and giving up, have an eighteen-month old with my new husband. I was 42 (almost 43) when I had him. Now, by accident, I am facing a few obstacles. My teen did not take the news well last time and I think this time it will be even harder. My parents & siblings are not very supportive and I had a blood clot in my left eye two years ago. For the past year, I've taken up running & exercise to try and combat my forty-five year old figure but now am really anxious. I have yet to make my first doctor appointment but I am a little over seven weeks. I would be happy to share experiences with you and be your friend. Hope to hear from you.

Oh, bless your heart. I was pleasantly surprised by everyone's positive reaction. So, when do you think you will tell everyone?

    Best wishes,
