4 days post ovulation pregnancy test results

Hi everyone! I am 4 days post ovulation. My Dr. gave me a blood test for pregnancy and it came back negative. Is it likely that the hCG would even be detectable with a blood test this early? Everything I am reading says at least 6-8 days PO for a blood test. Any input/experiences appreciated!

It takes 6-10 days for a fertilized egg to implant and begin producing the pregnancy hormone that is detected in blood/urine tests. At 4 days DPO, the fertilized egg, if there is one, hasn't even implanted.
