Has anyone done water birthing or water laboring before? I'd be interested to try it, but my hossy doesn't offer it.

If you've done it or know someone who has, I'd like to hear about the experience!

Water laboring is WONDERFUL! It eases so much pressure and the heat makes things feel so nice! I wasn't able to do it for long b/c of how quick i went but it was nice while it lasted

I think I would really LOVE it - I could spend hours in the pool especially when I'm pregnant. It eases the joints, it helps regulate a constant temp - I really would like a chance to try it... but they only way I could is by doin' it at home... and that's not happenin'!!!

I switched hospitals just so I could birth somewhere that had tubs for laboring women. They also offer water births, but not for VBACs (like me). But, I can still relax in the tub until then!!

Yale offers hot showers, but that's about it. I think I would love it too,but the shower and walking around will be just as good. I didn't have DS at Yale, and the nurses where I did have him expected me to be laying in my bed the whole time and I ended up yelling at them :)
me(32),dbf(34),ds(10),dsd(7), new EDD 1/16/11 hoping for blue :)

Here is a great article on the benefits and risks of water birthing. I didn't know that it helped with tearing, did you?
