Treatment of Early Syphilis by azythromocin
    Coucou97 posted:

I had an unprotected sexual oral receptive contact with a women. My tests for gonorrhea and chlamydia are negative. My doc said there was a slight chance of asymptomatical syphilis (since I don't have any symptoms). Therefore, he gave me azithromycin (zithromax). 1g orally the first day, then 250mg the next 2 days.
Is that enough for treating early syphilis?

My other question: I didn't pay attention and I didn't took the 1 mg at once the first day. I took 500mg and then the other 500mg 3 hours later (when I realized what I did, thinking that the tablets were 500mg and not 250mg). Can this affect the effectiveness of the therapy?

    Thank you very much!!!

Treatment used to consist of penicillin; however, since some are allergic to this medication, zithromax is often used to treat:
