Severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Central Sleep Apnea ; REM Behaviour Disorder

I have been diagnosed with it all. I am using a CPAP. I was having 50+ events per hour. I started taking Temazepam, I had to ask for it because my sleep is a nightmare all by itself. I would have nightmares and talk constant as though I were in my dreams. Hard to do with a cpap mask on. So with this incredible sleep that I thought I would never experience again because of this drug, my events per hour went down to 2 or 3 per hour!!!! I told the DR. this was because I was sleeping better with the Temazepam and he said, "Oh no, it is because I turned the pressure down on your cpap machine." Really?? Whatever. So I stopped taking the Temazepam for a few nights and sure enough, right back up in the 40+ events per hour. So he couldn't dispute this. He won't give me a straight answer as to why this is because he wants to believe he fixed me when in reality, the meds are taking control of my brain so it tells me to breath. Frustration at its finest. Anyone else take temazepam or ambien and have these results???

Hi there and thanks for posting!

I'm so sorry to hear what you've been going through. Sufferers of sleep apnea are not only faced with physical challenges but also emotional ones. I commend you for staying strong.

I strongly urge you to check out Temazepam and Ambien WebMD's Drugs & Supplements Center. You can also check out user reviews for both of these drugs. Ambien has over 1,400 user reviews and temazepam has over 300 user reviews. You might be able to find someone who has gone through a similar situation and has found a solution.

I also suggest that if you aren't satisfied with the care that you are receiving from your current doctor then I urge you to seek a second opinion. Your satisfaction and comfort as the patient is of the utmost importance and you deserve to be happy with the care that you are receiving.

Keep us updated. We are here for you ((hugs)).
