Suboxone and Benzos
An_265506 posted:
I have been on subs maintanance program. I like others have anxiety and nervousness while doing so. I think it is some kind of side effects. I already had depression and anxiety before hand plus OCD etc. Now I know this sounds bad but when I take a xanax or such I feel completely normal. No crazy high or anything like that but I feel normal. Everything seems to be as I would want them. No stomach burning, sweaty hands and feet, pain and tightness in the chest. But the problem is I am pretty sure he will not prescribe them to me. I don't know what to do. I am afraid to ask knowing he will say something in the likes of i can't get you another addiction or cut me off. This is what helps, I cant help it I'm in need. Does anyone else have any advice?

Using an addictive substance to reduce the effects of another is not safe, and I think you realize that. My advice is to tell your doctor the truth, that you need relief from the effects of the suboxone. You surely can't be the only person with discomfort, and there are most likely solutions that are healtheir than another substance.
Also, if you are in 12-Step support, group members may have suggestions.
Good luck.
